C119G 'Flying Box Car'

This is the Italeri 1/72 scale C119G "Flying Box Car" depicted in a preflight scene on the tarmac.  It was built OOTB and manned with ESCI/Ertl's NATO Pilots and Troops.  The tarmac is styrene cut to scale (with Armorama member assistance) and the loading stair unit is scratch built from wire and styrene.  I used a thread from discarded pantyhose as the antenna and fabricated the chocks from bass wood and thread.

Looks good, Scott. I may have to pick one of those up. It's not my usual subject matter, but it looks like an interesting build.

Great piece Slodder. Glad to see some nose art coming out. I left you info on the B-17 exhaust outlets.

:-) Very nice Scott, a very impressive diorama, simple yet affective. The figures really set it off. I've always fancied doing one of these, since one took top honours at the IPMS nationals, some years ago, the same kit I believe. Do you know if there's a kit in 1/48? I've not seen or heard of one. I might even go back to 1/72. Thanks Scott. :-) Mal

Holdfast, In my internet research on this bird I never did find a 1:48 scale kit. Doesn't mean there isn't one sitting on a hobby shop shelf out of production though. Everyone Thanks for the complements and feedback.
