Thanks everyone!
Penpen,
It was not exactly easy build - the Academy model itself can be build relatively easily with just a few correctable fit problems, but it has some serious issues with accuracy. Not as big as older Monogram kit, but still they are there. I decided to address at least a few of them and this turned this simple build into a huge project (at least for me - it is my first 1/48 airplane model). On my webpage you can read much more about this project (in Features section) and see much more detailed pictures of higher quality than those on Armorama (in Galleries section): http://www.vodnik.republika.pl

Vodnik, You've certainly done justice to the "Fighting Fulcrum." Pugnacious and elegant, all in the same package. The air superiority grey scheme sets her lines off beautifully. What unit? Slupsk? Btw, do you have any info/pics on the "Lala-1?" I want to do a conversion of the Trumpeter An-2 kit. Beautiful work! Rob

very nice MiG! You got me thinking about the one I have hidden away in my closet!

My MiG is from 1 Pulk Lotnicwa Mysliwskiego (Fighter Regiment) from Minsk Mazowiecki in 1990. And unfortunately I don't have any info on Lala-1, it is not in my area of interest.

Vodnik,
my hat is off and my mouth is still open. I just read your build story about this plane and itīs simply awesome! You have some hard scratchbuilding skills along with an eye for style.
Planes are really hard to build this clean and smooth.
Looking at the detail level itīs impossible to believe this is in 1:48 scale!
Truly inspiring work.

I want to let you know that I have finally re-edited and FINISHED my article
about Academy 1/48 MiG-29A Fulcrum.
It is now split to two separate articles, one is very detailed "in-box"
review of the kit, with just a few remarks concerning actual build of the
model; and the other article is a description of my work on this model. So
if you are not interested in information about my model, you can just go and
read the kit review. My build article was completely re-edited, with a lot
of new information added, and the layout of text was changed - it now
follows the sequence of actual build process. So even if you've read my old
article before and you are still interested in this model, I suggest you
read my review and my new article!
To see my articles go to:
http://www.vodnik.republika.pl
And then select REVIEWS form the menu to go to my MiG-29 review,
or select FEATURES to go to my build article,
or select GALLERIES to go to gallery with pictures of finished MiG model (more of them and better quality than those on Armorama!).

The model looks good... have you any idea how many hours went into this project ?
But congrats... and I am looking forward to more of your models..

Harm,
No, no idea how many hours. But it was seven months, an average of just about four hours a week. So definitely more than 100 hours.

Pawel
