Thanks for posting that extensive selection of photos Dave A question for you, I see there are many categories in the competition. Apart from the various scales entries are split between jets, props, multiple props, etc. Is this the case across the board at US shows or just the big ones like Mosquitocon? Oddly enough, in the 120 plus photos of the aviation entries I didnt see one Mosquito Nige

It's usually the norm at shows that use the 1,2,3 voting system. More categories = more awards. At Open judging shows, there are usually fewer categories, but awards are not limited to a 1-2-3. So you could have 5 or 10 or more golds, silver or bronzes each in a category, as each model is judged according to it's own merits individually, not against the other models in the category. IPMS uses the 1-2-3 voting system over here, AMPS uses the OPEN system. Which is better---- is like discussing Olive Drab, sooty muzzles, weathering-mud, chips, blonde's redheads brunettes and any number of totally endless debates. ( I prefer breathing and horn**, rich helps, and quite is best!)

Not complicated at all then Dave.. Over here in the UK its the 1 2 3 system. Mostly G/S/B although I have seen Class Winner/Highly Commended/Commended. Aircraft classes are usually Up to 1:72 1:71-1:48 Larger scale. Occasionally these are split into pre and post 1945, but never into props/jets/rotary etc. Nige

Very interesting pictures. A "twin" ME 262 - I have never seen that before. Great diorama ideas as well - especially the WWI fighter having a close incounter with a barrage balloon. Thanks for sharing
