Wow! What a portfolio. Great job, Joël! Really good looking aircraft with colourfull markings and interesting camouflages. Excuse my ignorance, but are all the markings from the battle of France? Some markings seem to be for Free French Forces or the Vichy government. I am no expert though, so I might be wrong. Under all circumstances - great job and great inspiration for my Bloch 174 for the La Marseillaise campaign.

Hi Jesper, No, you are right. But it would have been a shame not to include them in the Portfolio... The MB 155, Loire-Nieuport LN-40 and the H-75 A-3 are not from the Bataille de France. But they still carry their original paint shemes with the addition of "Vichy stripes" or "Croix de Lorraine" markings. Strictly speaking, both Potez are not from that period neither as they carry the white fuselage band which were applied just after the armistice and before the germans ordered the yellow-red "pyjama stripes" to be painted on French military aircraft. I agree to that. The yellow and red pyjama stripes scheme is a nice inspiration. I think, that type of scheme will go on my Bloch 174. It would be a nice masking challenge

Thank you Jean-Luc for uploading this portfolio and for your answers on this forum. I would like to add a little information. Even if the Potez 631 and 63/11 are wearing white stripes they really are from the "Battle of France" period. In fact, this white stripes are not Vichy markings but distinctive marks to avoid ressemblance whith Messerschmitt Bf 110. This white stripes have been weared by the Potez 63 afer mai the 23td 1940, just after General d'Harcourt's son have been shot down (by a freindly fire) in her D 520 when attacking a Potez 631 Who was taken for a Bf 110. After the armistice, in a firts time, all the french Vichy governement planes weared this white stripes and roundel around the "cocarde". Joël.

Excellent models. I've always liked the colorful "Vichy" markings. The Loire Nieuport LN-40 sure is a strange, but sharp looking one. Something about the gull wings, huge landing gear doors, and three fins makes it looks rather awesome.
