Some notes about the model
The model is 1:48 scale Bristol F.2b produced by Roden. It represents the Falcon-engine version.

I started the build as a gift for a member of my family about a year ago and finally managed to finish it in July 2009, quite a long time for building just one model. This model is my big debut: first 1/48 scale model finished, first biplane, first Roden, for the first time I used masks for painting instead decals. This was a great surprise for me that this model was chosen as a Model of Month on Aeroscale.

For upgrading the kit I used Part PE set No. 48133 dedicated to this kit and some scratch built details such as rigging, gunner/observer seat, some wiring in the cockpit. For the first time I also used Gunze and Tamiya acrylics (radome and grey) and Testors enamel – olive. I felt in love in all of these paints, especially Gunze and Tamiya.

This was very exhausting project for me – lack of experience caused many mistakes and forced me to do some work twice or more but I learned really a lot. I hope to use this knowledge in the future projects because I hope to start another biplane soon.

Many thanks to all Aeroscalers who helped me somehow and gave me a boost to finish this model, especially: Stephen T. Lawson, Terri Werner and Ireneusz Targoń.
