C4 Open Model Expo
C4 Open is the biggest modelling exhibition and competition in southern Sweden, strategically located in Malmö. With Copenhagen just across the bridge, there are at least two million people living within easy travelling distance to the show. With hopefully a major part of these people being modellers, the stage is set for a great show!

C4 have always been armour-heavy but during latter years, aviation subjects have been more and more prominent. This year, it was about equally divided between aviation and armour with strong naval and figure classes as well. The show is held at the technical- and maritime museum in Malmö so there is a lot more to see than just the models. One major attraction is a full-size, real 1942 vintage Swedish submarine that can be visited from stern to bow!
The photos
I have done a photo feature on the aviation competition that was divided into four classes, roughly along these lines:
A - 1/72 and smaller, "standard"
B - 1/48 and bigger, "standard"
C - 1/72 and smaller, "detailed"
D - 1/48 and bigger, "detailed"

C4 Open is held in october every year, check their web site at www.c4-open.nu. This is a show well worth a visit, not only for Swedes and Danes since for modellers from Northern Germany the show is well within reach for a weekend trip. Add to this the advantageous exchange rate for Euro-users and a strong hobby dealer presence this really can be made into a grand weekend out!
