Aviatik Berg D.I

Here is my Flashback 1/48 Aviatik D.I. Berg. The kit's quality is only average, with a lot of work needed to achieve a good result. Flashback released the kit in several boxes, but unfortunately they mixed the versions. I used scratch-made parts for the cockpit, a new cowling from aluminium sheet, and new Schwarzlose machine gun, and I also made a new propeller from wood. The kit engine was useless, so I used a resin version from Karaya. Lozenge scheme is fully painted with Aeromaster, Lifecolor, and Gunze paints, because i found kit decals poor quality.

Fantastic! Could you please post a tutorial - with photos - of how you did the camouflage? I have this kit in my stash, and will buy a replacement engine soon.

Peter, This is a outstanding piece of artistry. How did you make your turnbuckles? The ones out at the interplane struts look PERFECT! It is the body of the turnbuckle that I admire the most, with it tapered at both ends, then the eyelets. Thank you in advance. Dave
