Here is my rendition of the AZ model in 48th scale. To get the proper width of the fuselage I removed 1,5 mm, but then the rear part of the hood was too large! I made a master to the fuselage side and molded a new one! A radiator is not available in the kit so a new one was made from scratch. Fuselage scoops were drilled and plated accordingly, and the wing-root fairings simulated with foil as the ones in the kit are in the wrong place, an OPL gunsight was made from left over plastic film. I painted my 406 in the markings of the first Escadrille from the Groupe de Chasse 1/7 in Syria in 1941. Colors are from the Gunze Sanyo range decals are from Aeromaster.

It is simply beautiful. I got one from Classic Airframes waiting to be done. Mine is going to be done as the one flown by Polish pilots in France.

Yes, very nice, Jean. Great job on the kit corrections, too.

Thanks Jean-luc, but the radiator is only one part of the rectification process! Nevertheless, the Az kit can be turn in to a great model with skill patience and a large doc!

Hi Jean,
Super job! I built the old Hobbycraft MS.406 long ago. The AZ kit looks to be far superior.
I know Luftwaffe is popular for their camouflage but for my money, nothing beats the camouflage of the Armée de l'Air.
Again, super job!
