1⁄48E-2C Hawkeye

This is the Kinetic 1/48 scale E-2C Hawkeye. It took me about 7 months to complete it. The kit builds up into a huge and really impressive looking model. I did some scratch building to make the static wicks, antenna wires, landing gear hydraulics as well as windshield wipers. I also removed all panel lines on the aircraft fuselage. Kinetic created panel lines on the fuselage which was quite unrealistic because you don't see it on the real plane, so I removed them with putty and sanding. The other panel lines on the wings and tail were left intact and I gave it an oil wash of raw umber. If you're building this model, please use lots of nose weight. This is especially so if you're planing to build this model with the wings folded, otherwise you're going to end up with a tail sitter.
