1⁄48Tamiya Sea Harrier FRS.1
This time I've built a Tamiya 1/48 scale Sea Harrier FRS.1 with a few modifications: seatbelts, thinning of wing spoilers, new fuselage top intakes, opening blow-in doors, re-work jet exhausts, detail in undercarriage wheel wells, detail inside air brake cavity with operating ram, opening all air scoops, end plates to stabilizers & removal of all raised detail & re-scribing everything.
Decals are from Xtradecal & paint from Lifecolor. There are no aftermarket parts used in the alterations; just plastic card stock, rod & tube as needed. The aircraft represents ZA190/009 from 801 NAS, HMS Invincible Air Group, Falklands, 1982.
It was a very satisfying build of a most remarkable example of British aircraft design as well as a tribute to the men who served in them. Hope it's worth a spot!
