The NorEastCon Plastic Scale Model Exhibition is an annual event and this year was hosted by the IPMS Rochester Model Club. The club makes its home in the city of Rochester located in upper New York State near the southern shore of Lake Ontario. The show was held on May 3rd and 4th of this year (2013), and marked the 42nd year of its existence.

There were 8 main categories comprising Aircraft, Armour, Automotive, Figures, Ships, Science Fiction, Real Space, Collections, Miscellaneous, plus Bantam and Junior. Each of these was in turn further subdivided into 80 individual subcategories. The number of subcategories varied from category to category but for each a first, second or third prize award was available.

Models were displayed on tables, by categories, in one large room while a second room provided a venue for numerous tables for vendors selling almost anything and everything pertaining to the hobby. Judging took place during the afternoon of the second day and a reception/banquet was held later that evening with the awards ceremony following.
