The Fleet Finch (Fleet Model 16) is a two-seat, tandem training biplane produced by Fleet Aircraft of Fort Erie, Ontario. There were a number of variants mainly based on engine variations. Over several years beginning in 1939, a total of 447 Finches were built, nearly all (431) of them for use as elementary trainers in the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan (BCATP) during the Second World War.

Finch ZK-AGC
Built in 1941 for the RCAF, -AGC Immigrated to New Zealand in 2004 from its previous home in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. It remains active on the New Zealand civil register.

One of the joys of being a volunteer at the Omaka AHC is to be so close to History. The engine was warming-up (beautiful noise) at the time so it was a little breezy for close-ups.

Biplane modelers - look at that big connection surface between the wing struts and the wings - nice huge sturdy pins in deep mounting holes...be fun to-scale in 1/72 Karl, nice selection of expert images.
