The F-100 was the West's first fighter able to fly beyond Mach one in level flight. Although it was soon outclassed by faster aircraft it was considered a "hot ship" when it first entered Squadron service. After some aerodynamic improvements made it slightly less than suicidal to fly, it went on to a long career in the fighter-bomber role.
the model
This is Trumpeter's F-100C in 1/48 scale. Kit built OOB except for legend ejection seat and eduard zoom cockpit PE parts. This Hun belonged to 113 TFG of DC air national guard during 1970’s Paints by life color; filters by true earth; decals by caracal models.

Thanks to all! The kit hasn't big problems and doesn't requires particular skill level. I suggest this kit to all century series fan..

Fabrizio, beautiful work on a well-worn Hun! F-100 is one of my favorites; two family friends flew them and although I did not get to pick their brains, I recall one story from Wheelus AFB; my dentist flew them (and F-4) and I got stories from him. Your Hun is the F-100 in my mind when the subject comes up!

Thanks JPTRR! Since i was child, i'm fascinated by hun. I' ve seen it for the first time when i was child, in Italian air force museum. There was a olive green danish hun (d version)in outdoor exposition. Today, i think, this plane is a gate guardian in Aviano AFB, Italy...naturally repainted with USAF insignas..

That's a well deserved win Fabrizio. That's been my favorite jet since I was a little kid. I grew up in Boston near the airport. There was a squadron of them flew daily and when not in school I was able to watch them fly in formation.

Thanks acktwice! I think that a hun flying formation is a very impressive show.anyway my favorite jet is starfighter..but i like all centry series. In particular with ANG insignas..
