Due to the need for forward-firing guns and the lack of a decent interrupter gear, Airco's D.H.2 was designed as a pusher, sharing this layout with such famous aircraft as the F.E.2B, Vickers Gunbus and F.E.8. Although it looked ungainly, it was more than capable of holding its own against anything the Germans could throw at it throughout 1915 and 1916 until June of 1917 when it was finally withdrawn from front-line service.
the model
Although Revell produced a D.H.2 in the 1960s, it pales by comparison with Eduard's offering. This delightful little model is the best D.H.2 by far. The model is out of the box with the exception of a photo-etched seat and an aftermerket engine from Small Stuff.

The model was finished to represent a D.H.2 operated by the 4th Army Air Park in Beauval, France during 1916.

Beautifully executed and extra points for the scale - I've built one in 1/32 and swore off building another Farman until at least the 2015! Great dio and figures to boot!
