1⁄1Fouga Magister “RED DEVILS” Details

There is something about the “Red devils” name. Several music bands, an energy drink, football teams all happily share the name. Probably all in the assumption that the name sets them apart from the common mortals. The name is particularly popular in military circles. Regiments from France, Italy, United Kingdom etc … are wearing the name with pride.
In Belgium, the national football team is called the red devils. However, for many Belgians the “Red devils” are nothing but the Belgium Air Force’s aerobatic display team that, from 1957 till 1977, amazed the crowds during air shows.
In their most famous period, they performed in 6 Red/yellow/black painted Fouga Magisters, and had one spare painted the same way. With several Fouga Magister kits coming to market, I took a series of detailed pictures in the Stampe & Vertongen Museum of a Fouga in Red Devil livery, hoping that these may help completing the already available documentation.
