Look Up To the F-4 Phantom II
One of many aerospace displays at The Virginia Air and Space Center is this McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom II, loaded for the air supremacy role. This F-4E killed two MiGs over Vietnam while assigned to the 34th Tactical Fighter Squadron (Tail Code: JJ), May 1969-October 1974. It armed with an M61A1 20 mm cannon, four AIM-7 Sparrow radar-homing missiles, and four AIM-9 IR-homing missiles, and a 370 gallon drop tank under each wing.

One remarkable fact about this display was related to be by a docent. This F-4E can never leave the museum - it was brought in whole and the museum erected around it. All the other displays were brought in and assembled.
