America's North American Aviation followed up on their B-25 , P-51, F-86 and F-100 with this classic of trainers, the T-28 Trojan. This photo feature shows not the whole aircraft but rather striped down airframes revealing internal structure.
Found at the National Weather Museum and Science Center in Norman, Oklahoma, this pair of stripped fuselages allow us to look into parts of an aircraft structure most of us will never see. The structural detail should be useful for those who engage in scratchbuilding, and provide ideas for creating interior structure where no references exist.
One of these T-28s is the unique N10WX. It was "armored" to fly into severe thunderstorms to collect data on hail. It was retired and donated to a municipality that inexplicably sold it to a collector, who stripped it with disregard to its special and historic significance.
