1⁄72The Horten Go 229 Jet Wing
This Revell kit went together with no issues and quite a bit of detail for a 1/72. I added instrument wires for the back of the panel, hollowed the cannons, filed down the tires and added a few photo etched cockpit details. The "airwaves" PE set is completely useless being that it is incorrectly shaped and takes away from already good details. The Montex masks helped with clear parts and wheels. The sheen reflects a new look, thus is polished then oils added for subtle shading. Mixed Tamiya paints made the RLM colors with a clay wash for panel lines. An iron buffable paint was used for the high heat areas. The base is a scribed sheet of 1 mm styrene with half a dozen shades of grey then blended with off white. A few spare decals, a scratch build tank and radio area made up the other components. A relatively easy project that could have been brought to another level but was great fun. Thanks for having a look.
