Great news, Andy!!!
Hope they impoved since the LaGG which is ... challenging (in every aspect, so I did not buy one).
Can you convince Slava to send a larger pic of the box top .. even when using image zoom I cannot make out the words (Pilots and Units?)
Thanks!
Steffen

Hi Andy!
Thanks to you and Nazimkov for the heads up!
This one is on my buy list. But like Steffen I hope their second kit will be better than their first. A review of the LaGG 3 kit by South Front can be found here by the way. But SF is a new company so we should not expect to much at the beginning from them...

Hi Jean-Luc
As for the manufacturer: I believe they did/do molds for ICM, but ICM did not take it ... either because of the mediocre quality or because there were out of money again....
lets hope this will be better, as I cannot afford the Vector kit
best wishes
Steffen
P.S. IMO Nazimov is a surname and Slawa his first name

Nice review Jean-Luc which gives us a taste of what this kit may be like.
There's nothing wrong with a challenging kit if it is at least accurate to start with IMHO (not that I'm likely to buy it anyway ).
Unfortunately they were the biggest pics from the site.

Many thanks Andy!!!
It is really strange how the order of names it mixed .. is it from a russian (ukrainian) source?:
Capt.Golubev Vasiliy Fedorovich (surname - given name - fathers name)
Capt. Stepan Ivanovich Kharchenko (given name - fathers name - surname)
hmm .. I guess I'll buy one ... BTW the kits were not really cheap here in Germany. The lowest I have seen was 17 Euro for the LaGG (which it is not worth IMO ... OTOH there is only the LTD kit as competitor) ... we'll see what this kit will cost.
Thanks again!
best wishes

Good news on this aircraft!
I really enjoy seeing planes such as this get modeled. The one I'm waiting for is a 1/48 I.A.R.-80, made by one of the major players.

Hi Derek!
A new I.A.R. 80 would be nice indeed!

Dorogie Drusya! (Dear Friends)
got this kit today, No. 0423 to be precise. It is a short run kit and has very subtle panel lines. Though not many as this is mostly wood planked ... IMO they're almost too fine considering the one or other layer of colour. The wing trailing edges are a little on the thick side. The plastic is white, a little oily and has some flash.
There is a nice decal sheet which is a little yellowish but in register ... but the decals will have to prove if they are useable (I've had bad experiences with the ICM stuff)
best wishes
Steffen
P.S. 19 c&m options ....

Hi Steffen!
It's your birthday present... flashy and oily! Happy Birthday!
The description you made is very similar, in term of quality, to their first release. Maybe this could be a nice entry for the VVS Campaign! You can build the La-5 and I can build the LaGG-3...

Hi Jean-Luc
Thanks mate! Well, I bought it myself .. does this qualify as a present? I read a thread over at HS about modelling being porn ... so this would be a "working girl" ???
I got some books as present though (ordered them myself but I did not need to pay )
We'll see. At least it is a candidate .... have to build my Eduard Yak-1 even though I still only have one (O N E) decal that is not misprinted I have 4 sets and each has 3 of the decals I need and there is one that is acceptable .. two of the sets are Eduard replacements! I am very sad that Aviprint does the job so bad .. Propagteam did them perfectly .. unfortunately those decals were nothing for the fainthearted. .. but I digress
best wishes
Steffen
