Bf 109 F-4Posted: Friday, June 22, 2007 - 09:01 AM UTC
ICM released a Bf 109 F-2 kit in 1/48 scale last year which, even if far from being perfect, can be build into a nice replica of Willy Messerschmitt's famous WW2 fighter. The F-2 being an early type, it is nice to see that ICM also released the more widely produced F-4 version.

Thanks!
P.S. Steffen, don't tell me you have already built this one!

Hi Jean-Luc
Your remark about the decals is intriguing! I'll be very interested to know if ICM have changed how they're produced and how they perform. Thanks for a very useful Review.
All the best

..you mention that you think the kit is inexpensive Jean-Luc....at 21€ I don't think I'd even consider it given the faults...

Hi Neil!
Well, that's what I paid at my LHS (an Hasegawa kit costs about 30-35€ in the same shop). I think you can have the ICM F kits for 15-20$ in the States. This doesn't eliminate the faults though...

..the difference in price between the two is minimal in my LHS....I'm being either ripped off or getting a good deal depending on which way you look at it then.. !
I must admit I did buy one ..but its gone (right) to the back of the pile..!

Hi again Neil!
So it did not land in the dustbin! There is still hope then...
By the way, did you have the same moulding issues in your sample ("orange skin" and little holes)?
