Hi Chris

Here is a review:

ME 109 review

Looks like it is a good idea to shop for some decals.

Good luck with the kit

..I've built two or three of them - simple, straightforward construction, reasonably detailed - especially the cockpit - you can't go wrong especially if its cheap....
you could ideally do with cutting out the control surfaces and the main wheels are a little on the thin side...that and the decals are the only negatives...

I cannot remember what version the Airfix kit is - F-2? F-4?

You could find some decals sets below:

Decals 109 F-4

Decals 109 F-4

Hi Chris

Airfix's Bf 109F is widely regarded as the most accurate available in terms of the airframe - it's not as sophisticated as later kits but, if you're prepared to put in a bit of extra work on the details, you've got a great little kit on your hands.

All the best

Hi Chris,

I concur with Merlin. I built this kit 20 years ago and it still holds up well. Osprey's Modeling Bf-109F & G Review states it is a very accurate kit, too.
