Hi all:

I made some little progres on my P 47D. Here are the pics. I replaced the machine guns of the kit with metal tubing. Now minor details are resting (This time I won´t forget to paint the tail wheel ) chipped paint on the propeller, and general weathering too. I believe that I´ll finish it this week.

Hi Carlos!

Very good! How did you achieve that paint chipping effect?

Hi Jean - Luc:

Thank you

First I painted the udersides, wings, cowling and part of the fuselage NMF (Buffing Aluminium Plate) then I applied the paint scheme and when dried I chipped the paint with a No 11 X Acto blade.
Next time I´ll give a try to the technique you used with the Fairey Fulmar Mk I.

Regards.

Hi Roberto:

Thank you. For the machine guns I used Surgical Catheter. They´re made of stainless steel and are used for medical procedures. You find them in pharmacies.

Saludos.

Thank you Nigel.

This week I´ll finish the wheel wells (undercarriage doors), general weathering, antenae and the canopy. The Academy kit is not the same qty as the Tamiya but with a little care and some extra work it turns out in a beatuful model (and it´s cheapper than the Tamigawa´s).
I saw you´ll build another P 47 for the Rumble in the Asian Sky Campign.
Is it a Tamiya in 1/72 ?

Regards.
Carlos

Las agujas hipodermicas sirven para escalas menores y dependiendo del grosor. En esta escala y en este caso se usan catéters.

Saludos.
