Hi James

What scale are you considering? I assume 1/48th?

There is no current "in production" model of the Lancaster in 1/48 and I think the case is the same for the B-17. This is going to put you at the mercy of the second-hand sellers and eBay would be a good indication of price, unless you get lucky. Tamiya made a couple of versions of the Lancaster, which normally go for AUD150-200 on eBay. The Grandslam variant normally around the 150-160 and the other (Mkii?) closer to 200. Monogram made a B-17 haven't seen one of these on eBay for sometime.

The Mosquito might be readily available from Tamiya, i don't know which version you need for a RAAF example though. I did a quick search and found at least 3 different variants in by Tamiya. Tamiya kits are known for being relatively "shake n bake" and I believe their Mossies are no different.

1/72 is easier; most of these subjects are in production, hasegawa released their lancasters not long ago and academy has a few different versions of the B-17 (probably want to see if you can find a review of the academy kits though and I would suggest aftermarket decals, from experience with other kits of theirs). tamiya also do a 1/72 scale mossie and I remember a positive review somewhere. Again might be an issue with a RAAF specific example though...

hope this helps
