This is one of my longer running projects, there is a particular scheme that I wanted to do for this but Could never find the decals. The fact that it actually had unspated undercariage didn't deter me, (I didn't have the skills to make them, although I pobably could now). Now Amtech have brought out a resin cockpit, unspated undercarriage and, you guessed it markings for the aircraft I wanted to dipict. So I decided to have another look at this, dug around veriouse kits and came up with a scheme, (kit decals are kaput). So 1 week ago I re-started this project by spraying the undersurface RLM 65 Light Blue. :-)

Mal, I love that choice of project !
What brand is that model ?
If you're interested in early war subjects, the polish PZL 11 by mirage is a rather good model (a bit of work here and there, but all in all a pleasure to build) ! I'm working on it right now !

:-) Hi PenPen HHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!
This model is by ESCI, it was supposed to be one of those "quick builds" and now how many years later?
I'm after modelling Every plane that participated in WWII (I know I wont live long enough) so the PZL 11 was always in there, just waiting for someone to do it. Like you say the Mirage example is rather good. I will be doing the aircraft that claimed the first kill for the allies, the pilots name escapes me. I did have a Polish uncle (he was killed in a car crash in East Germany) so I have a liking for things Polish. I have a Lublin XIII R that I am intending to do as a float plane, I have an etched set for it so there is nothing actually stopping me, mmmmmm Lublin group build anyone?

Lublin
Isn't that a shot you need to take if you are going to Asia???
I don't particularily fancy the early stuff, but I like the idea of the Camo pattern on the early German bird!! That would be a fun project to airbrush!!
Great stuff as usual!!!
One question: what does "unspated undercarriage" mean???

:-) Brian,
The wheels are encased in spats, or covers, in mud or snow the limited space avilable inside them would become clogged, causing resistance to the wheels but possibly more importantly adding weight. So the spats were removed, on some aircraft.
This bird will be in the Russian theatre, so only the yellow theatre bands and RLM 70 Blackgreen to go. The multi coloured scheme is interesting but was used in spain, outside my sphere of interest. :-)

That's sure not an everyday kit. Love to see pictures of the final outcome

Once again ..... should be the making of another nice bird. I like the pics with the pre-shading. Gives some insight to your methods. You production line is coming along nicely!
