Sorry if this topic is lurking out there somewhere else, but I haven't been able to spot it.

I'm currently working on an old Catalina, and I have no idea what its actual colors were. The kit supplies instructions for peacetime colors, but I want to build it as a warbird. Trouble is, I can't seem to get any good reference pictures! The library here has nothing on it.

If anybody knows of any good sites for pictures, or even just the right colors to paint this thing, I'd really appreciate the help.

Here's a tip for find pics of any aircraft:

Goto Google.com and instead of performing a reagular search click on the link "Images" just above the search box. Using the "Images" search function only brings back pictures of what you write in the search block.

One thing - the Cat was used a great deal at night because it was slow. So they were often painted black all over. I guess you need to decide what the mission of the bird you want to depict is.
I saw a good documentary on the PBY on the History Channel last month. Keep your eye out for it, it was really quite good.

Ahhhhhh the Black Cats.They were used as a night strike force.Very effective.
