I don't know if this can even be done, but I thought I would ask - is there an easy and effective way of removing dull coat overspray from the clear parts of your aircraft canopy?

Depends on which dull coat you used.
If's it's an acrylic one, yes, ammonia or any ammonia containing products (Windex) should remove it.
If it's the MM lacquer based stuff, not likely, as it probably etched into the clear parts already. Another good reason for dipping in Future first, as any successive coats is really on the Future, and you have a better chance of saving the canopy. Sanding and polishing and then dipping in future may save the clear parts, if not etched too deeply. You could try to polish it off using old fashion toothpaste also, not the gel type.
Good Luck.

Thanks for the info, Dave. Unfortunately, it is the Testors flat lacquer stuff so I may be out of luck. I just went and looked at the can last night to check. Crap! Oh well, maybe I can say it was a muggy morning when the aircraft is being photographed.

Try using some Easy-Lift-Off on the canopy, either with a brush or a Q tip and wash off with warm water.
Hope this helps
