Post your 3 pictures for the August Model of the Month competition Here.

Post your, single, picture for voting purposes in the gallery, for August 07 here

Rules for the new Model of the Month. Please read before posting

1. Entries must be of your own work.
2. The model must be of an aircraft.
3. The model can be in any scale and in any medium.
4. The model can be “out of the box”, scratch built, or anything in between.
5. The model must be finished within the month for which it is entered. The model could have been started some time before the MOM for which it is entered, it is the month in which it is actually finished that counts. So if it isn't finished this month it may be ready for next month or the month after
6. 1 picture is to be uploaded into the relevant gallery and titled with what the model is of, I.E. VS Spitfire Mk Vc. No composites. This picture must be of just the model, no base. (For a model posed in the "in Flight" configuration" a small stand is allowed which can be used to either support the model or as a counter weight. A beaching dolly can be used for a float plane.
7. A thread will be opened in the general aircraft forum in which you MUST add up to 3 further pictures and you MAY add details about the build. The model can appear on a base or even in a diorama in this thread. Pictures must not be larger than 700 pixels wide, in either the gallery or the information thread. If you wish to post further pictures then open your own thread.
8. Pictures of models can be placed in the gallery from the first of the month until the penultimate day of the month (the next to last day) (see “5” above). (This is to avoid the time zone difference, I'm working on GMT)
9. Voting will take place over the first half of the next month, closing on the 16th. (This will be between 18.00 and 00.01 GMT)
10. Dragon are sponsoring this from June 2007.
11. Staff members of the Kitmaker group of sites cannot enter.
12. The rules will be added to when and if it is deemed necessary.
13. Any none complience with these rules may result in disqualification.
14. Ignorance of these rules is not an excuse for not abiding by them.

Finally finished my Skyraider that was for the Vietnam Campaign by attaching the bombs and the aerials. The kit was the Tamiya model built out of the box with the only addition of some scratch built seatbelts, and was entirely painted with Tamiya paints. Decals are also from the kit. Good luck too everyone that enters.

This is the old Matchbox 1/72 Vickers Wellesley I. Other than adding a few aerials and creating new decals, it's pretty much out-of-box; I even used the kit pilot/gunner figures. Paints used were Gunze lacquers and Xtracrylics. The model was built for an online Group-build of Matchbox kits to celebrate the work of Mr. Maurice Landi.

Hi there. I haven't finished any models for a long time and thus I did so this time I wanted to join. Here is my Arii 1/144 F-105D. It is a completely probable but imeginary individuel aircraft due to the decals being collction from other kits (the kit's decals were completely wrong). And also my first NMF try on an aircraft.

Have fun...

Here's my entry for this month, finally got one finished after my severe bouts of depression.

It is Fujimi's 1/48 Me109k-4 'Red Tulip'. Really enjoyed building it, once i had worked out an new construction stage for the cockpit it was a dream to build with no fit problems. I added an etch seat belt and some wiring into the cockpit to liven it a little bit aswell. It is painting using Tamiya acrylics and once the decals had been applied i did a paynes grey wash over the panel lines and other weathering such as exhaust staining etc.

I can see the competition is going to be unusually stiff this month. In case you were wondering, I do build aircraft other than Albatri. So here we go.

This is the proModeler 1/48 F-84G Thunderjet. It was built OOB

I did a NMF using Allclad Aluminum. The Antiglare panel was painted Olive drab even though it is provided as decals. This kit has more decals than parts. The decals are wonderfully colorful.

I love Nose Art. With the stiff competition this month, I figured this picture might be good for another vote or two.

There are more pictures in the Cold War Forum. You can leave comments there. Thanks for looking.

To close this entry out, let me say you will enjoy building this kit, even if you are not a big fan of this era. It was a wonderful build.

Here's my August entry. Tamiya P-51B in 1:48 scale. More photos and description can be found in my thread in the WWII forum. (However, if I could vote, I'd already be casting it for the guy with the FW-190!)

Here is my submission for August: A 1/72 Heinkel He-45 by AML. A true limited run kit due to the fact that almost all parts fit very poorly. I had to scratch the center struts, the bracing struts for the tail and the bracing struts for the tail skid. Struts for the tail skid weren't even provided with the kit, even though they are clearly seen on the box art. This was the most difficult project I have ever done up to this point.

Here is the build thread for the gory details...

This is my 1/72 Messerschmitt P.1101 Night Fighter from Revell. To improve the details I used PE parts and masks from eduard and made rivet lines along the panel lines.
