Here is my Spad in progress. Just got through with first attempt at extensive rigging. Still need to finish putting on exhaust, other small details and a dullcoate.

Hi Mike!

Very nice model indeed! Like Michael I would like to know more about the kit and also the markings... I'm not curious, I just want to know!

Anyway, the paintjob and the rigging looks great.

Looks really good. The tires might be a little bit too black. But a really nice job. The rigging looks great.

This kit is the Hobbycraft 1/32 scale. It is built out of the box in the scheme of an italian ace. I am just returning to the modelling scene and agree, now that I have checked some other references, that the tires are too black. Strange how I never seemed to care about these sort of details when I modeled as a kid.
This one is not finished and is in line behind a Roden 1/32 scale SE 5a and a 1/48 scale DVII.

Greetings Mike;
Its a good build. The part about knowing now that you could have done things differently is something I have experienced many times before. Following the kit instructons is never a "bad thing." I think when we were youngsters we all believed the instructions to keep the build easier / simpler. We were often building something that was foreign to our knowlege but looked cool.

Then we seem to grow beyond that easy build stage and try to 'get it right". As adults, getting it right is often more important than easy building. For me the thing that makes a build satisfying is the attitude of the builder. Model On!
