Hi all!
I´m back again!
Recently I met two charming mademosielles, It was love at first sight!
This one I met in Scotland;
...and this one just before my vacation.
I spotted this flying boat in a magazine and it was instantly one of those "That must I have, NOW" moments!
But I thought the price was quite high for such a small aircraft, so I hesitated!
Then I read a very positive review in a SAMI issue, and then I took the plunge and orderd the kit!
The wait before the package arrived was long, but finally It showed up in my local post office.
When I got home and had the box in my shaky sweaty hands I thoght "My, this was a big box, and heavy!"
Upon opening the lid I realized, this was no small kit, lots of parts, resin and etch!
Examinig the parts showed that this flying boat couldn´t have been fitted in a smaller box!
This aircraft is Big, about the sieze of a Swordfish!
This will be a "Build It, and build It NOW" kit!
Two French aircrafts in a short time, je suis malade!
Bonne nuit!

Hi Stefan!
Bravo! Bon choix!
Both kits have been reviewed by Rowan:
- Potez 630
- Loire 130
For the Loire 130 there is a nice Catapult available if you need a display base...
It only costs 167€ and can be purchased from AJP Maquettes
If you need a reference book for the Loire, there is only one available...
You can find it at LELA Press

Yeah, I think I would have grabbed those kits also.

Hi again!
I forgot to say that if you like French WW2 aircraft, an 1:48 scale Azur kit of the A rsenal VG 33/39 is currently available from Hannants for only £5.35. It's less than 8€!
Postage will probably cost more than the kit...

Hi Stefan,
I've been thinking abut proposing a campaign dedicated to the magestic flying boats. The talk on previous threads regarding Catalinas, Short Sunderlands etc, really made me want to build one or more of these fantastic aircraft. Your excitement over the Loire 130 just proves me right.
Besides, flying boats are great for dioramas!
Unfortunately, there seems to be quite a backlog on starting new campaigns. Question is, can you wait?!
Jean-Luc, I will work on my campaign idea and get back to you next week.
Cheers!

Love the Loire! What's the quality like OOTB.

Hi Scott
typical MPM group release ... not bad, but short run. For more read Rowan's report, that Jean-Luc linked in his post.
I do not like the instructions, because many location points are unclear ... some good reference material is recommended
best wishes

Hi all!
@Jean-Luc;
Thanks for the tips, that book will be very useful!
Even though I don´t read French that well, I only had 2 terms about 30 years ago!
I will take a look at that little beautiful A r - senal fighter too, seems like I got hooked on these French aircrafts.
The Mirage III have always been a favourite, as the Dewiotine, have both types in both 1/48 and 1/32!
@Björn;
I have already cleaned up the resin and been fondling around with the sprues, but no assembling yet.
I can wait with the build as I think a Flying Boats Campaign is a Great idea, and I have lots of other Campaign builds going on right now!
@Scott;
Well, Steffen nailed it pretty well!
It´s a short run kit and not a Tammegawa, but It´s very good beeing a short run product.
The plastic are well moulded with little flash and great detail, the clear parts are thin and very clear, decals seems to be of good quality and the resin parts are very well done with loads of detail!
I agree with Steffen about the instructions beeing somewhat unclear where the parts should go.
Good references will be necessary for this build!
Same can be said about the Potez, so read Rowans reviews on these kits.
Thanks all, maybe we will get a French-Frenzy here now?
Cheers!
