Hell All,

I'm building a F-14 and I want to verify if my assumptions on where to put fire proof coating is correct. I want to hang under the plane:

GBU-24
AIM-54
AIM-7
AIM-9

If I am correct, only the GBU-24 needs the coating, right or wrong?

Cheers,
Matthijs

Hi Matthijs!

Yes, the various "dumb" bombs, GBU´s and JDAM´s got the fire-resistant coating.
I have never seen this coating on any missiles!

Guess that missiles need a "clean", light and smooth body to fly as intended!

Are you building the Tamiya or Revell kit?
I´m building on a Tamiya 1/32, you can see some pics in the "Bye, Bye Baby" F-14 Campaign in the campaign section.

Cheers!

Hi Stefan,

thanks for the feedback. I am doing the Tamiya kit. I have bought the Black Box cockpit and I will put some scratched wires here and there.

I wanted to check your pics but the "journal function" is discontinued

cheers,

Matthijs

Unfortunately the journal function is disable but you can see everyone progress on the official campaign thread that can be found HERE
