Hello.
I`m bulding this Revell kit in 1:72 scale. I buyed some PE parts for the Bf 109 (I needed the seatbelts) and me 262 masks.



There was a lot of putty to use because the parts don`t fit together as they should.




I made rivet lines on the whole model.
And yes I know that this aircraft never existed but it takes it to a new level of detail.





This is the painted, washed model. I used revell emails and for the wash a black brown mix of oil colour.

That's very impressive! Particularly the excellent mottle-camouflage in 1/72 scale. Your model definitely looks like it should be an On-Display Feature when it's finished.

Revell has a P.1101? I didn't know of such a thing. Is that a new kit or a re-pop of some other manufacturer's kit?
Looks really nice so far, I especially like the mottling.
I wonder where the russians got the shapes for their own early jets?

Actually the P.1101 were the basis for the US Sabre. The Russians based their early jets on a FW design as I recall. Anyway both sides "benefitted" a lot from the designs developed in Germany but never produced.

It is also new to me that Revell has a P1101. Is it a reboxing of the Dragon kit? As I recall the Dragon comes with an engine. Is that included in this kit?

This kit is way back from 1998 and it was reboxed from Dragon.

Hi. It is really looking great. I myself built one a few years back. Only problem is that the kit is, as most old Dragon kits, hard to fit. I don't mean that it doesn't fit, it does in deed but needs attention. I replaced the anthennas with metal rods. Looks better thann the plastics given with the kit.
And yes the Russian designs are based on Focke-Wulf Ta-183. As far as I know Ta-183 var captured by the Russians and P.1101 vas by Americans. And as far as I remember later one handed over to the Sweds or something. Saab Tunan is also based on the P.1101.

I made a soft post shading with black colour and replaced the old antennas.

Looks great.

Really nice post shading. I will try that - maybe on my next project for the Pacific campaign - after I have taken pictures. Just in case the whole thing does bad
