With the deadline of the Bye Bye Baby campaign looming ( yes, I know there is an extension), I knew I was going to have to speed build my 1/48th Revell F-14A Tomcat. So in one of my "Nirvana" moments I thought, "lets do a 12 hour speed build".
This will be my short build blog. I will post updates throughout the day.
I shall start at 10.00am British time.

12.00P.M Cockpits done. The first photo the flash went off so all the colours appear brighter then they actually are.

"lets do a 12 hour speed build"
Hi Andy!
12 hours? Impossible! If it would have been 1/144 scale maybe but 1/48... no way! But good luck!
I hope you have today's newspaper as a proof it wasn't started two months ago...

I'm not mad, just ask my psychiatrist

.
14.30 Well that was hard work, the fuselage just didn't want to go together. There are a couple of seams to take care of, then its off to be primed.
While that is drying I shall work on the undercarriage.

Wow if you can build 1/48 airplane in 12 hours, maybe that doesnot include paint and decals, maybe assembly only you might be able too.
Good luck

Keep Going Andy! I regularly build em fast, you just need the right materials on hand and the fortitude to keep plugging away at it. You sure picked a tough kit to work with...good luck!

I'm in the middle of doing the 3 tone camo, and I think my compressor is about to blow up. It keeps making rattling noises

22.00 Well basically its finished.
It needs a dull coat and the canopy gluing on. Lucky there was only 5 decals

.
The undercarriage is also threatening to collapse

.
Not one of my best, but for 12 hours its not bad either.
Thankyou for watching and posting.

Wow, not one of your best speed builds but still impressive considering the time you gave yourself

personally I think it could do with some panel lining on the top side before the dull coat. Don't forget to upload a photo to the campaign gallery.
I take it you didn't want to be beaten by a girl after Sam did her two day (well actually day and a half) speed build
