I a currently working on a water scene with a Sword Grumman Goose taking off. The base is foam painted with cheap acrylics from an arts&crafts store, the wake created by spackle paste, then coated with Modge Podge. I am trying to get the props in motion!

Great! More Geese to the world!!

I built the Sword kit a while ago, and I enjoyed it a lot. My Goose was set in a winter diorama, so I'm looking forward to seeing it in a warmer environment. Which markings do you have?

I'd love to see if you manage to pull off the spinning props. I'm currently working on a project that include a couple of in-flight models, but I'm not sure how to acheive decent replication of spinning propellers... Please keep us posted!

Any pictures yet?!

Cheers!!

Looks good. I am looking forward to more of this project. Especially the moving props look good.

Thanks for sharing

This is going to be really cool. The waves are nicely shaped. The props look good too, did you scratch them?

Thank you everyone.
The props are made from plastic disc, painted wth acrylics then cut to shape with a sharp knife.

Latest work is Tamiya paint with Vallejo weathering:

I really have a soft spot for these aircraft since I was a kid and saw a photo of the orange one(s?) we had in the Swedish Airforce in the fifties!

Nice model, nice water and you have even almost convinced me about the props (I have always been sceptical to spinning props...).

I think I have a Rareplanes vacfom stashed away somewhere...

Regards

Hi Dan

That's superb! It's got so much life. I love it!

As the others have already commented, the water and props look really effective! Did you take any pics earlier in the build to illustrate how you did them?

All the best

Thanks Rowan.

I should have taken more pictures during buildup, and will do so on the next one...I am going to do another Goose in 1/48 scale. I promise to do a better job!

Regards, Dan

Hi Dan
Fantastic - it'll be awesome in 1/48 scale and would make a wonderful Build Feature! Will you be building the Czech Model or Signifer Goose?

All the best

I have the Signifer kit which is outstanding. I hope to start it within a month or so.

Great model, Dan! You gave me some great ideas for spinning props! The Aircraft looks beautiful in those markings! I wish you the best of luck with the Signifier kit. You might want to read the review by Tedmamere here at Aeroscale. He was very excited, and - as always - he did one heck of a job with his Goose (Les Oies, as I think they call them in France before they make their tasty Fois gras and swallow it with some chilled Sauternes...).

There was only one Goose in the Swedish Airforce, although it changed markings a couple of times over the years. The colour, however, remained lucious orange! Here's my attempt at the wonderful Sword kit.

As I understand, there is a better set of after market decals for the Swedish "Tp81 Grumman Goose" on the market right now. It would be nice to see in some warmer surrondings... maybe when the ice has melted!

Moore Geese, please!

Cheers!

Thanks Dan! It sure was a fun build!

Here's a picture that might inspire you to yet another Goose diorama. You seem to have a talent for water!

I noticed that Hannants sells the Signifer kit in 1/48 at a reduced price! I'm looking forward to your next build.

Cheers!
