Greetings all I thought we might do with a bit of spotlight on some modelers that I have come to know as "talented." We can always learn from the works of other modelers. (So you don't get too bored with my opinions.) Here are some of the virtual works of artist Mark Miller.

Starting with his Nieuport 17.C

Next some Albatros D. type fighters first the tropical variations.

An some Alb. D.V types

For my SE 5a project guess who I am using for a guide?

Mark is one of the good fellows of this hobby and he warmly allowed me and others to use his works for our hobby. He works for WETA digital. Yes the LOTR folks. You can see Mark's fine handiwork in the scemes of "King Kong" where the aircraft are buzzing around the Empire State building. When I use the term "talent " here, It is a bit of an understatement. Mark is the man in visual effects.

Good Choice. Mark is the undisputed leader in artwork of this type. But where can we find his work? I have been to the Albatros site. I never got the wing art to work. I would love to have this artwork as a reference for future builds.

Hey Stephen,

Mark MIller's talent is beyond words. Concerning his Jasta 11 Albatros.....I know this probabaly isnt 4693, but would you say 4693/17 had white or red tail section?

regards,
Jeff

Definately red. I have a nice line up shot of Jasta 11 in Oct. - Nov. 1917. All had dark (red) noses just like the one above and coloured tails noted the pilot. MvR - red.
