Working on a Top Gun project duplicating the MIG 28.
What would be the best kit to use? Would it be ok to take an American F-5 and convert or is there a dedicated kit that represents the MIG? Any tips on conversion (if that's the way to go) would be great.
edit- I know of the inaccuracies - going for the movie look.

They've used F5-E and F aircraft in the movie. There was no real MiG-28.
Check out this link for some ideas.

Depends on the scale. Check ebay for 1/32 to 1/72 (search for f5e). GreatModels has a couple too.

Scott - so you want to build this ?
If you decide to build it in 1/72 PM me necessary info, you can have the two I have "bagged" that originally came in this set, one has a warped port side wing but the other looks okay.
I bought two of these things, one for me one for my nephew, while the movie was still playing in theaters, would you believe the second one I bought was just to give the hat to my nephew ?
