Hi Steffen
Wow! Jean-Luc told me that Tamiya had shown him sprue-shots and that this kit was set to be a stunner... now I know why!
To be honest - this looks like the quality new 1/48 scale WW2 kit Tamiya needed to produce to counter the increasing competition and re-establish themselves at the top of the tree. It looks absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for the heads-up!
All the best

It looks more like a recent Eduard kit- i mean the with the engine detail and everything. Combined with Tamiya's usual ease of building should make it a winner.
Also on that same news link is the announcement that Tamiya are finally making Clear flat and clear semi-gloss TS sprays which is also great news to me. TS13 Clear has been a long favourite of mine.

BTW I have one Storch on preorder for a few weeks.
and yesterday I ordered the Ki-45 from Hasegawa (with fuel truck) and the Fine Moulds X-Wing .... all 48 that is.
The Tokio show seems to produce some very nice news for quarterscale ...
also I agree with Andrew that Tamiya seems to be back on top (that is an elative) not only constructionwise but also in terms of detail
cheers

Hi Stephen!
These are nice pictures indeed! Thanks for sharing.
The finished model looks awsome with all those inner details revealed. I also like the fact that three different upper glazings are provided. It will be easier to do a "Bouglione Circus" Storch!
If you look closely to the fifth picture (with the sprues) you will notice the fuselage halves are composed of grey AND clear plastic. But on the PE fret it seems that no seatbelts are included...
For 1/48 scale WW2 aircraft diorama builders, this U.S. Staff Car will be interesting too...
It is only available as a "finished" product but it may be included in Limited Editions kits in the future.

Hi Jean-Luc
Ahh - that explains it! I was trying to figure out what was going on the picture!
Cool! - there's no sign of any painting masks in the photos... do you know if Tamiya are planning to include some?

Hi Steffen
It looks like we've both been busy pre-ordering... but I'll leave the X-Wing to you.

Hi Steffen
I hadn't spotted that one before your post, but I've still got the original Monogram kit waiting for a big enough space to build it in! It's surprising just how big a Dakota is in 1/48 scale...

Hi all!
I don't have a C47 in my stash yet so the trumpeter one will be definitely on my "to buy" list! Miam! Miam!
Thanks for the heads up Stephen, I didn't spotted that one neither!
Rowan, I don't know if masks will be included in the Storch kit. I think I still have to work myself in into the French Tamiya insider team to have such informations...

Hi Jean-Luc and Rowan
I assume there will be masks included (the Fw 190 A-8/R-2 had some) and considering the over all quality appearance it would be sad if Tamiya would leave it out,
@Jean-Luc: why Stephen? did I miss something?
best wishes

LOL! Jean-Luc
You took the words right out of my mouth - but in much more fluent German! (But shouldn't "wohnung" have a capital W?)
How's everything going Steffen? I hope our good vibes have paid off for you.

Good morning friends
thanks for the " good vibes" they worked pretty well over the last months
I have a flat and I am trying to fill it, but I have already consumed my starting capital .. .so I have to wait for the next pay check. The work is running well, actually it is not much working but learning right now (and that won't change for the next months ... or year).
Today I am getting my modelling desk ... the computer desk is already up and running, but I still do not have a private internet access. Hope I can finally glue some plastic this evening

Excellent! Keep the pics coming - at this rate, we won't need to do a First Look Review when Tamiya release the kit!

Hi all!
Now the last question is: are there seatbelts included?
I don't see any on the picture of the finished model and none on the PE fret...

Hi guys...I don't post in this forum often...but I've just discovered on the Perth military modelling site that the Hong Kong manufacturer Tristar is also producing a "Storch" in 1/35..It has to be better than the old Hasegawa version!

PS: Maybe you've already reviewed it here....if so....SORRY!

Hi Jean-Luc
From the latest shots over on HLJ it looks like the seatbelts are supplied as decals...
