P-47D interior color (wheel wells, inside the cowl, etc) a bit confused. Detail in Scale saw Chromate Green (MM makes this color Zinc Cromate Green) but I have seen so many people use the Tamiya Yellow/Green, are both correct?

Hi Michael

In my (admittedly dated) edition, D&S state Chromate Yellow for Republic-built machines, Chromate Green for some field repairs and Curtiss-built P-47Gs.

I hoe this helps

Hi Michael.
This subject always raises a good discussion and Rowans right with what he says , maybe?
I remember reading that Farmingdale P-47s were finished with zinc cromate yellow and Evansville P-47s with zinc cromate green.
As with many aspects of modelling, personal preference is what matters at the end of the day. My preference is for the yellow/green XF4 on P-47s.
Have you noticed the Aeroscale SIG thread dedicated to everything P-47, HERE
