Hi Gino,

Im just a bit confuse , Im goin to use tamiya spray paint for my OH-6. Tamiya has three kinds of Olive drab; TS-5 Olive Drab (semi Gloss a bit darker), TS-28 Olive Drab 2 (lighter than TS-5), and AS-6 Olive Drab (USAAF). My mind tells me its AS-6, is this the right paint? or is this the best possible paint (Think this is closer to FS34087) for vietnam paint scheme.

Thanks...

Sorry, I don't really have an answer for the Tamiya paints. I don't use them. I am an exclusively Testors Model Master enamels guy. My guess would be the TS-28 Olive Drab 2. I think the AS-6 Olive Drab was only used on US Army Air Corps aircraft in WWII and is not correct for a Vietnam helicopter.

Good luck.

Testor paint is pretty limited here in Manila, almost all hobby shops here were selling either tamiya paints orGunze Sangyo. Thanks anyways.

Given that the sun and heat took a serious toll on the paint of aircraft operating in the SEA theater of operation, any drab green should work. A darker tone would indicate a newer, just arrived airframe and the lighter variants, older been there awhile.
