Hi All,

I have the idea of modelling some of the British aircraft used in Malaya during the 50s.
I have most of the aircraft but does anyone know if a 148 Brigand has ever been produced commercially in any media ?
Also, dose anyone know of a UK source for the 148th scale Kits at War decals for the Lincoln/Washington other than Hannants, who I know are sold out.

All the best,

Kristian.

I am sorry to disappoint you but I am almost sure there have never been a 1/48 Brigand.

In 1/72 there is at least two, the Hallam vacform and Magna Models resin and within a year there will hopefully be an injection moulded one from Valom.

Regards

Magnus

Thanks Magnus,

Thats a shame. In that case I will have to mix scales and go for the 172 one.
However, Hannants did send me the decals.

All the best,

Kristian.

Take it easy with the Brigand. After having worked for a while on the Valom Albamerle, I think that their injection moulded Brigand (most likely including resin and photo etched details, like their previous kits) in 1/72 is certainly worth wating for. It is announced for realease late this year/early 2008. Yes I know it isn't 1/48 scale - but after all, 1/72 is still God's scale.

I would prefer 1/48 as I started off with the 1/48 Sanger Lincoln. However, from what you say I might get the Valom 172 one as well.

All the best,

Kristian.

Hi All,

Further to my search for a 1:48 Brigand, I don't know what you all think but the Airmodel one on this site http://www.wonwinglo.scale-models.net/id20.htm looks 1:48 to me.
Unfortunately, it doesn't say what scale it is but it looks to big for 1:72 compared to the Avro York in the photograph.
Please be aware that the site doesn't like Firefox for some reason.
Now all I have to do is find one...

All the best,

Kristian..
