Hi folks,

I was wondering if anyone had ever built this kit. it's the C-47 SkyTrain from Monogram Classics in 48th scale. If anyone has? Did you find any issues in the build? Ways to correct the problems that you found, anything of that nature.

I'm about to begin this project and turn it into a "Golden Knights" bird.

So if anyone has any comments on this old kit I'd love to hear of them pleaes.

thanks

While it is no worse than any of the other Monogram kits of its era, it does have some minor ones. None that can't be overcome. Hyperscale has a group build of the old R/M kits, several C-47/DC-3 kits have been pictured.

I've got one on the bench as we speak. I've done three or four in the past too.

The only real problem was the wing to fuselage. But if you check and adjust your fit you should be able to get little or no seam to fill. This is one of those kits that basic modeling skill sets are a must. Make sure the two surfaces are square and meet flush. Work in small sections when cementing the fuselage halves together as is the same for the wings and wings to fuselage. The rest is gravy. These kits offer a lot of potential.

I'm eager to build the new Trumpeter release!

Trumps got a C47 coming out ??? hmmmm may have to give trump kits a try.. I've stayd away from them since most of the guys in the local club have said the plastic is very soft and have to be more careful when cutting and such...

if the army gets in gear* LMAO * like that will happen.. maybe I can get started on the Golden Knights bird before the new year rolls around.. since they are done with thier schedual for the years events... but who knows..
