Howdy folks,

What is the best method for gluing on clear parts, specifically the canopy?

Thanks!

Hi Pat

As an instant answer - white glue (PVA), because it won't risk attacking or clouding the canopy. There are specialist products too such as Micro Krystal Klear and Humbrol Clear Fix - but PVA adhesive does a fine job and is nice and cheap.

I hope this helps

Hi Pat. If you dip your clear parts in Future[the floor wax] you can use tiny amounts of super glue. I've been doing this for awhile now with no problems. Wingman out.

Thanks for the replies! I'll experiment with both methods.

Hai,

I have used simple white glue as well but sometimes it dried with a slighly yellow color.

Micro krystal klear dries totally transparent. I also use it to put on small parts after spraying the plane

Piggy backing on the Future comment, you can also use Future to attach your clear parts as well as non weight bearing PE parts, and small doo-dads. Its a very versatile material. Barring that, white glue diluted with a touch of water for easier flow and as a bonus, it dries flatter than flat. "Q"
