Hi all
I'm very new here, I usually hang out over in armor. I thought that some one here might be able to identify the two aircraft in this photo? It is a picture of my mom(standing with white suit) and dad (sitting on the tire)at the Windsor Ontario Airport before it was paved. I thought I might try and do a model to celebrate them. Dad passed away at 94 two years ago and mom is still here at 92.
Thanks for any help here.
Regards
Bill

Greetings Boggie;
It looks like a modified "Great Lakes". Let me do a bit of checking.

William,
What a cool project to do! I hope you find a model of the aircraft, if so I look forward seeing you post it here.

The one above looks like it has a three piece upper wing and different cabane struts by the cockpit.
The centersection looks like it houses a gravity feed fuel tank. Wing struts maybe tw pairs of parallel struts instead of the "N" type
Here is a 1/16 scratchbuilt version from the Fritz Howard collection.

Stephen
Many thanks for that confirmation, I would never had guessed. Dad used to say that he and my mother flew Jennies and that one of their friends had this new airplane and they all gathered around it for the photo. I inherited his wings, my mother has lost hers, she never drove but she had her pilots license, very special to me.
Do you think the plane in the rear is the same kind? I looked through your forum here and saw what looked like a scratch built wooden Jenny with a thread 33 pages long, that is a serious project indeed. The rear tail section had that Jenny look to it but perhaps it was wishful thinking.
Derek thank you for seeing this the same way I did and if it gets done I'll surely post it here.
Very kind of you gentlemen, you know how to make a fella feel right at home.
Best
