Hi All,

Been snooping around on this site over the last couple of weeks looking at all the talent on display here. Just joined up for the Aces High campaign which is my excuse for returning to soem aircraft modelling after a gap of about 15 years or so.

I've always considered aircraft modleling to be pretty hard-core so was a bit nervous about posting something. I currently mostly work on wargming stuff (commissions) and most of what I do is 20mm (1/76th or 1/72nd) so I'm looking forward to having a go at a 'plane again

I've attached a few pics of the last batch of aircraft (1/48th) I made which were all made up to be used for airwargaming. Being mounted on stands has taken its toll and almost all are missing bits and have damage, Lt Hiros Zeke has the entire nose held on by Blu-Tack after a particularly hard landing with the carpert. Try as I might to find the exhaust stacks they appear to be long gone. I think as it was a $5 Otaki Kit I just assumed at the time that I'd be easier to get another than repair it at some stage .......

Anyway they were all made in the early 90's and its about time I dug something new out of my stash to finish.

cheers
Brent

Hi Brent.
Welcome to the world of wings
Some great photos there, thanks for posting them. The Mustang looks particularly good.
Im really glad my Aces High Campaign has been influential in your return to modelling aircraft!
Looking forward to seeing your builds.
Are you going to practice on something before April?

Hi Nige,

Yeah sort of planning to have a go at a Tamiya Mossie in the new year. I brush paint everything and the aircraft were all done in Humbrol enamels, mostly from their Authentic Colour range so that shows you how long ago. I'll have to play around to get the colour selection sorted out again in particular the grey for the two tone RAF stuff. I think the colour I used was Hellgrau or something and I've no idea what a match would be now.

cheers
Brent
