"The Lavochkin La-7 (Лавочкин Ла-7) was a Soviet fighter aircraft of World War II. It was a development and refinement of the Lavochkin La-5, and the last in a family of aircraft that had begun with the LaGG-1 in 1938."

Before i close the plane i putted a wire in the right side of the cockpit(saw it on a pic), and a lever on the left side it was engraved on the plastic but i thought it would look better if it really exists, so i built one. Next step putty and sanding.

Hi ricardo,
Which kit is this and what scale?
Looking good and I like the idea of painting rather than using decals, so much more realistic

Hi Ricardo,

Your La-7 is taking shape beautifully.
As for the colors beware of the AMT-12 you've found.

I was the one who made the color chart you posted first and the AMT-12 I devised was completely off.
Here's the RGB formula: AMT-12 RGB 79-97-90

I hope it will help.

Hi Ricardo, how are you finding the Academy decals so far? I have this kit and also the Gavia kit, i want to do both decal options that Academy provide but i'm concerned about how good the decals are. Especially if the white decals show through the colour from underneath.

And i have to say that's an interesting way of washing a model. Is it watercolour paint or somehting else?

It's looking very good, i like Russian aircraft a lot.

Hi andrew . The decals are ok except the way they look...i think a little plastic but maybe that disapears after que matt varnish applied, and i dont like the way we have to put some decals over another to get one but they are not the worst i have seen.
the white is ok you dont see anything behind them.
When you say its an interesting way of washing the plane i say its a heart breaking one because you are always thinking will this go ok this time or not
well to do it like this you have to put future let it dry and then you apply oil paint let it dry till it looks matt and then you start cleaning him with a soft towel. if you not happy with the result you start again till you have it the way you want.
glad if i helped you

Nice work, Ricardo!

I really like the weathering effect you have achieved. The base looks nice too.
