Having just built Airfix's Vulcan, how about new tooling's (preferably injected plastic) of the V bombers in 1/72nd or even 1/48th.

How about V bombers in 1/144th?

I know Welsh models does (or did) them as vacuforms but it's about time someone injection molded them.

A 1/48 scale Focke-Wulf Ta 152C would be nice.

Hi Steve Shafer,
I hear tell AeroClub make a 1/48 Dragon Rapide, I've seen an article in one of the UK magazines somewhere. You can go to their web site, or if you live in the USA, try Roll Models.

But an INJECTION kit of the Dragon Rapide in 1/48, well, now you're talking! Or a nice vac canopy/resin/photoetch set for the Heller/Airfix kit (Heller originated it)- crystal clear cockpit and pax windows, 'wicker-look' seats, cockpit side walls and instrument panel, and the entry-way stowage.

Hi, Yalým Alatlý,
There IS a 1/144 F-4B/N/S, a limited edition (as a kit) of one of the Japanese Gashpon trading kits- they show up on EBay from time to time.

My own list. All should be injection molded, convetional model airplanes- 40-100+ parts depending on size, clear windows, interior details in relief, not just decals for the instrument panels.

1/72 737-700, Southwest markings, with winglets, cockpit, turning engine fan. Accessory or aftermarket kit for entrances and interior, otherwise a 1-piece interior, like the see thru 747 has. Sell a version with pre-wired LED based red/green/white lights in fiber-optic strands powered by a service vehicle hiding the batteries.
Will same kit support a Wedgetail? Should. Have an option for 1 piece clear fuselage halves, with all side windows molded in place and die-cut masking gizzies for interior and exterior.

1/144: Grumman S-2 Tracker (USA/Canada/Oz/Thai/Korean/Netherlands/??), C-1 Trader & S2T Turbo Firecat air-tanker for fighting forest fires. (sure, I'd love one in 1/48 or a new one in 1/72, but I'd be able to fit about 4 in if its 1/144...)

1/144: de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter- short nose, long nose, floats, CLEAR windows and a correctly shaped cockpit windshield would be wonderful. I wouldn't complain if someone fixed the old Matchbox tooling so IT had a correctly shaped windshield (it should curve, not be flat, like armor glass!) and main gear legs and wheels that could take the wieght needed to keep it off it's tail.
There's that travel-agent model 1/48 kit- tool it up with an interior, etc, and it would be tasty as well.

I'd let the aftermarket come up with the Harbin Twin Panda conversion... and an Otter (not twin!) fuselage....

1/144 Britten-Norman BN2 Islander, with open doors option / BN2 Mark III Trislander stretch with 3rd prop engine mounted on rudder, ala DC-10... Or at least a 1/72 Trislander to go with Airfix's 1/72 Islander.

1/144 CF-105 Arrow, by the same team that made the new Revell 1/144 F-14 and F/A-18... cockpit detail, open or closed canopies, optional Mk II operational version engines/rear fuselage with at least one open missile bay. Some kint of scale-like airfoil instead of the Clark "Y" on the Hobbycraft kit would be nice.

1/144 Fw-200 Kurier/Kondor. I'd like the single main wheel, two blade prop, civil airliner version, but I bet a LOT of long range patrol versions would sell too, with the bomb/gun gondola, top turret & gun position, long range tanks in the cabin and twin main wheels on each gear leg...

1/144 He-177 Grief. Just shrink the present Revell l1/72 kit, and let the photoetch people shrink their 1/48 stuff produced for the recent big kit. An aftermarket conversion top the four nacelle 274 would be nice too- in civil French markings and as a Lufthansa '46 flight of fancy airlliner

1/144 Bristol Beaufighter Nightfighter/Long-range patrol versions, include radar boxes instead of the torpedo, have both flat and dihedral horizontal stabalizers.

1/32 MODERN kit to replace the Revell item, or a serious interior upgrade kit- injected or perhaps vac-formed, for an AI Mk IV radar and maybe the later version with thimble nose.

1/144 de Havilland Mosquito - single stage Merlins and the two stage/two speed version. B/PR IVs, the two stage equivalent with bulged bomb bay, F mk II FB Mk VI, two-speed/two stage version (with aft bomb bay AND cannon breeches in the bomb bay area).

A MODERN 1/32 Mosquito kit to replace the old Revell item...

1/144 Grumman F11F-1 Tiger - sure, grey and white, but Blue Angels is the key here.

1/144 Douglas SBD Dauntless - have Sweet or Dragon or Revell shrink the Accurate Miniatures kit MUST have a good cockpit (pilot and radio/gunner areas) and open or shut dive brakes.

1/144 Grumman/Eastern TBF/TBM - same- Sweet, Dragon or Revell shrink the Acc. Min. kit...

1/144 TSR-2. Have Airfix shrink their own 1/72 effort.

1/350 Hawker Sea Hawk, Sea Fury, Westland Wyvern, de Havilland Sea Hornet, Sea Vixen :^)
1/700 - same
1/144 same

1/350 F-8 Crusader, US & French, w/ positionable wing, leading and trailing edges
1/350 Rafaele M, F11F-1 Tiger, A1 Skyraider, S2/C1/WF Tracker, S3/C2 Hawkeye

pilot's cars:
1/48, 1/72, 1/144 1956, 1963, 1969, C6, Corvette (hardtop & convertable)
1/48, 1/72, 1/144 1968 Mustang, Camaro (hardtop & convertable)
1/48, 1/72, 1/144 Porsche 1960 356, 1968, 1995 911, 1977, 2005 911 turbo
1/48, 1/72, 1/144 TR-2/3, MGB, Jaguar XKE,
1/48, 1/72, 1/144 ALFA Guliette (GTA), Spider Veloce, Ferrari GTB/4, Ferrari Dino

maintenance vehicles (Jeeps are available)
1/48, 1/72, 1/144 VW Bus (T2,T2/68, T2/79, T2/92) 1970 Econoline Van, 1969 Dodge 4 X 4 crew-cab (USAF),

An ACCURATE F-35 A/ B/C, with MOVING PARTS (optional) for the B version- lift fan doors top and bottom, rotating engine exhaust nozzle, opening canopy working landing gear and weapons bay doors. Been too long since we had a way-cool moving parts model, other than the working contrarotating prop on the Trumpeter 1/48 Wyvern...

Now how's THAT for dreaming???!?!

I build aircraft in 1/48 scale. And I especially love Russians, and the Warsaw Pact. So, I'd love to see an Antonov An-2 "Colt", an An-14 "Clod", an Ilyushin Il-28 "Beagle" bomber (that one would have to be hung from my ceiling), a Kamov Ka-25 "Hormone" helicopter, Mi-4 "Hound", Mi-8 "Hip", Mi-14 "Haze" and PZL Mi-2 "Hoplite" helicopters, and a Yakovlev Yak-18 "Max." Also, it would be great to see plastic issues/reissues of a few other planes, which are either becoming hard to find or very expensive: an Aero L-29 "Delfin", an Mi-24 "Hind" copter, a Sukhoi Su-7 "Moujik", an Su-22 "Fitter", an Su-24 "Fencer", an Su-25K "Frogfoot", and a Yakovlev Yak-52. Also, how about some more colorful aftermarket decals for the newly-independent ex-Soviet republics, and the Eastern Bloc and Third World air forces that fly/flew these machines, as an alternative to the same old boring Russian red stars.

There's an Aeroclub Dragon Rapide on eBay at the moment. Price seems bearable - so far ...

Hi Les

You're in luck there - Dragon have one on the way.

And to add to my list - a Bell P-63 in 1/48 scale by one of the majors.

All the best

I would like to see an accurate C-130H in 1/48 or 1/72 scale.

And I was just about to mention that there's a resin conversion to modify an existing Dragon fockw-wulf to a Ta-152C.
But this thread was about wishes for mainstream models so that's for my remark anyway.
That's quite surprising that Dragon (or any company) hasn't done that already. Isn't it so that anything Luftwaffe tends to sell like the proverbial hot cakes?

Mainstream (or even a modern decent limited-run) King Cobra? Yes please, I'd get one of those too.

Thanks Rowan and Eetu,

I have waited for almost a full year for Dragon to release the Ta 152C kit, the other 1/48 scale kits they announced came out last year (Ta 154 Mistel and He 162D) but no word at all on the Ta 152C so I feared it had been cancled for some reason.

Not a kit but still waiting on Monogram Aviation's Focke-Wulf Ta 152 book. It would be a treat if both the Dragon kit and Monogram book were released this year!

Hi Sean -

I couldn't find the Aeroclub Rapide on ebay. There are a couple 1/72 on there. A Heller and an Airfix. I have the Heller. Has the Aeroclub already ended?

I forgot the one airplane that I doubt has ever been modelled in 1/48. The Sikorsky S-38. I have a resin 1/72 kit of it but I think, if i ever get the guts, I'll try a scratch build on it.

I know other companies have these kits, but I am talking about Hasegawa or Tamiya doing these kits in their standards:

1/48 Tornado
1/48 Mirage series
1/48 Tomcat series................Tamiya
F-22 Raptor
Mig-23,25,29,31
Su-27
1/48 B-25 series
1/48 Me-110

Why has Tamiya come out with 1/48 versions of their F-16,F-15 but not the F-14 and F-4 or why do do both companies ignore the Mig's and Mirage series,or why does Hasegawa produce almost every other German and American plane in 1/48 but no Me-110 or B-25.I am sure there are reasons but it seems that there are interesting gaps in the kits they choose to release

Not only will there be a 1/48 B-52 Stratofortress, but I just learned that Aeroclub will be producing the IL-28 "Beagle" I beseeched the model gods for! Seems like we can look forward to some big behemoths this year.
Begemot Decals prints a 1/48 sheet for the MiG-25 "Foxbat", with markings for Egypt, Syria, Libya, Iraq, and Bulgaria, as well as the USSR. The MiG-25 being such a big plane, with correspondingly large insignia, these decals should be the right size to use on an L-28.
The sheet also has decals for Ukraine and India, which of course have never flown the IL-28, and for Algeria. Unfortunately, the decal sheet lacks the flag fin flash needed for the Algerian Beagle.

I would like to see anything from before WWI and before 1910. Such as

Aerial Experimental Association' s Cygnet, June Bug, White Wing, Red Wing, or Silver Dart. All the Wright planes including the glider, and Model A, and while we're at it, the first Curtiss plane.
