I have one picture of the machine in question. It was the ONLY A-26C (actually, a RB-26C Douglas Invader) employed by the short lived Country of Biafra. (1967-1970) Would anyone know of any other pictures of said beastie? Any help would be great. I am starting initial construction, and need more information. TIA. Ray

Great site!! Thanks. I have tons of ref's on the A-26 itself, it is the one particular bird I need the ref for. I can't find any pic's of the Darn thing except the color profile that I already have.
I know it was captured by Nigerian forces in Port Harcourt intact, and that it was flown by a Merc pilot. They also had some B-25's but haven't got around to those as of yet.

Hi Ray,

try to get yourself a copy of the October 2007 Model Aircraft Monthly magazine (cover photo shows a built-up Blackburn Skua). There are three useful photos of Biafra's first B-26 (the solid-nose one with the shark mouth painted on it), as well as a profile of the second, clear-nose machine (which might be the profile you already have).

I should add that the photos are part of an excellent, two-part article entitled "Air War in Nigeria 1967-70", which gives a thorough historical run down of the aerial conflict side of the war, and also lots and lots of great reference pictures. The second part of the article was in the November 2007 issue of the mag. Hope this helps. cheers Brad

PS If you have trouble getting a copy, let me know and I'll try to colour photocopy mine for you.

I cant find them. Copies would be great. I have both 1/48 scale kits by monogram, plus alot of AM stuff. I have started on the C model, and am going off of the profile I have to do it.
Any thing you have would be fantastic!!!

Cheers,
Ray

Ray,

No problems. I'll do my best to get a decent copy for you! Send me a PM with your mailing address, and I should be able to get it off to you this week (though it's a public holiday here in Australia tomorrow).

cheers Brad

Hi again Ray, Hyperscale.com also had a very interesting build of a 1/48 Biafran A-26 in its "what's new" section earlier this week, if you haven't already seen it. cheers Brad
PS Have those articles I sent shown up yet? I posted them on 30 Jan.
