Of the three (more or less) available - Airfix, Italeri, ESCI, which is the best option?
Cheers!

I have only built the Italeri kit but I was happy with the results.

The later Airfix kit (with the RNZAF C-130 on the box) and the Italeri kit are apparently one and the same kit.
All the best,

Italeri by a long chalk, going back a decade or so i had a bunch of these and did a lot of different versions by just changing engines and using different decals.
From the basic kits that were available (the transport version and the AC-130 A)i built several USAF versions and one from from the RAF.
I also built, using resin conversions that were out at the time,an MC-130 E complete with "skyhook" nose system and underwing refueling pods.
The interior of the kit is very basic but with some TLC it does come out quite well.
Sorry i can`t supply any pictures coz i donated them all to a local aviation museum but i hope this helps you in your quest.

If you are interested, I can post some photos of the un-built Airfix kit.
All the best,
Kristian.
