From the box alone I would say black. Then I looked at a kit review and several Googled sites that also say black bottoms. AiC serials appear in red.

hello mikko i recall an article years ago on the paint used on german seaplanes , it was an antifouling application , not a regular rlm finnish ( ? ) not black , nearer swartzgun in colour i think . perhaps our fellow luftmarine experten could help here ? hope this helps . tally ho !
