Hello!
I will start my Hasegaaw Mustang "Hunsdon" in a few days. I received it as a b'day present one year ago and it's still sitting in its box.
I noticed that the instructions sheet provided is the one for the P-51K, so I suppose I will build just a P-51K.
Which are there decal sheet which allow one to depict this kind of a/c in different (non RAF-RNZAF-RAAF) liveries, or even in some more exotic camouflages (I've seen there are a bunch of South American ones)?
Thanks for any answer!

There is little difference between a P-51K and a P-51D. A K models is pretty much a D model that was build at North American's factory in Dallas (as opposed to the Ingelwood plant). The Dallas plant started using the bubble canopy that is more bulged in the rear at some point. I couldn't tell you if all Dallas produced aircraft had it or not, but that is the primary external difference between the D and K. Since canopies could easily have been swapped (or repair or whatever), a D and K can very easily be confused.
I'd say that you should build whichever aircraft with whatever marking you want since you probably have both canopies supplied in the kit. Just make sure you use the bulgier canopy if the aircraft is supposed to have it.
BTW, South African mustangs both during WWII were both D and Ks, and the ones passed to them by the USAF in Korea were all Ds I think (but not positive). The D and K mustangs the SAAF used during WWII had some cool camo variations - medium green with ocean gray, dark green with ocean gray, medium green with medium sea gray, and olive drab with (the darker version of) sea gray.

You should also consider joining the "For Export" group build, as it sounds like you are likely to be doing a build here that qualifies.

The difference between the "D" and the "K" was the propellor used not the canopy.
