Turn left at the WWI Vintage Aero (white coloured ) and Airport (green cloured ) signs- dirt and gravel road . Travel left (due west again) about 1/2 mile and left at the first and only farm hous at the 4 way stop. Travel south about 3/4 mile past the airport to the two hangars at the end of the cultisack. Thats us.

Further word on the current set of wheels: In the first image the wheels were original to the purchase . But we have all of our wheels built by Woody's Wheel Works here in Denver. Woody knows what he is doing and what type of cross loads will be put on the wheels. With the conntenintal we needed a set that could take the load.

More on the wing: You may not see what we have done additionally to the surface. When R. Platz and an mild mannered fellow wingnut got together the legendary wing was brought from the dark mists of yore and thrust onto the pages of modern history. Something akin to the fabled sword being pulled from the stone. If we were to streak the wing, we would have to leave the wood bare, to stain it. Which was okay for an airframe of WWI, where the service life was about 1 -3 months. But we expect to get years out of our wing before we need to do any repairs to it. So after building it we covered it in fabric. rather than paint and streak this covering like Fokker did on his fabric covered airframes of late 1917 - early 1918. We went with the solid colour to give it a uniform surface and keep the costs down.

I certainly hope I can make the maiden flight. I do enjoy these old style aircraft. Much more personality than the bus's I work on... But then time March's on..
